“Will this display 1080p normal, or will there be distortion for people only using directv 1080 regular”

• It will upscale lower resolution content, including both 720p and 1080p. It does a fantastic job with 1080p content, making it appear far sharper than one might expect.

• I have this TV & two of the old HR23 Directv DVRs and I don't have any problems what so ever, except for the speed of changing channels and such but that is due to the directv receivers. Of course, according to directv, it's because I need to upgrade to the genie receivers. Hope this Helps
