1st, I shopped and looked at the Samsung 55's for months before purchasing. In my opinion, or in my case, the curved didn't seem much better! 2nd IDK about 3D, it seemed like it was a fad that never really caught on. The Color & Brightness are fantastic. It has an auto darkening feature that can be turned off if you don't like it. 3rd, I have a BR player and a WD box on HDMI inputs and Optical output to the Surround system. My son was home from college last week and he hooked up his Xbox without a problem. The only complaint so far is getting use to the new remote..the jury is still out in the remote!!
