Yes, you can. We are using a Bose Lifestyle 20 that is also approximately 20 yrs old and haven't had a problem. The one thing that is aggravating is, as I'm sure you have already learned, is that you can't use the Samsung remote to control your Bose, or we can't. It may be different with your Acoustimass 5 but, with the picture from this Samsung TV and the Audio from my Bose, you can't beat it. I would almost swear we were sitting in the theater. This only thing, if your Bose has the option for Optical Audio, mine doesn't, you will probably have an even better Audio experience. Hope this helps. Love my Samsung & Bose.
