You are buying older technology if you buy the lower models. The 9000 series has a nano crystal display. The lower models are UHD, not SUHD. The 9000 series also comes with a U Connect cable that comes down to an expansion box for your HDMI components to plug into. These boxes can then be updated down the road to newer technology for roughly $250.00 rather than buying a new TV. The difference in price between these TV's is about $200.00 from what I can see on Bestbuy's website. Once you get the 9000 series TV, you will be very happy with the purchase. Go in a store and compare the two, you will see the difference. You can also take advantage of a lot of shows and films streaming on Netflix in 4K. Hope this helps.

Go look at them in the showroom you will see the differences if you can't then buy the cheaper model. I definitely could, and I did buy the 9000. Great TV!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the 6500 and 6700 use 8 bit LCD panels which are found in conventional HDTVs, which are only capable of showing a certain amount of color at any one time. The 8500 model and above use 10 bit panels which are able to display 64x the amount of color as an 8 bit panel. The standards for 4K content have only recently been implemented, and 4K blurays and 4K bluray players will be on the market in early 2016 using these standards. They will use HDR (high dynamic range) standards, that only 10 bit panel TVs will be able to take full advantage of. This is not to say that they will only play on 10 bit TVs, because they will play on any UHD that is HDCP 2.2 compatible and using an HDMI 2.0 cable. It's just to take full advantage of all of the gigabytes upon gigabytes of data that will be on a 4K bluray, anything below a 10 bit TV will leave all of that unbelievable picture quality untapped. Showing a 4K HDR bluray on an 8 bit panel TV would be like trying to use jet fuel in a 1995 Ford Focus. You're simply not going to get the performance you dreamed of, unless you start pouring that jet fuel into a jet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The 6500 and 6700 models are NOT 3D where as the JS9000 is 3D. The 6500 and 6700 have a 120 motion rate while the JS9000 is 240 giving great clarity when watching sports and action movies. The sound clarity is enhanced with premium DTS 5.1 sound and Dolby Digital. I had a 40" UHD tv prior to this with DTS sound and the depth of sound is better on this TV. The JS9000 has a smart hub which you connect your cables to and down the road you can upgrade your tv with updates through the hub. The JS9000 has what is called nano crystal technology which provides expanded color range. As more programs are broadcast with 4K this TV is ready to receive that advanced technology. I dont know if the other models have an emanual but on this tv you can look up anything easily. You can also just speak into the remote and just ask the tv for what you want. (ie if watching 3D just say picture 3D and the picture switches to 3D viewing or say picture Sports and the picture and volume settings are automatically adjusted.....I have not even touched the surface on what this TV can do as I just got it but I have not been disappointed in my purchase. It just depends on what your personal preferences are and what features are important to you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I decided on the 9000 over the 6500/6700 for a couple of reasons. One the refresh rate is faster, deeper blacks and the processor produces more accurate color. The sales rep. had a lot of other technical reasons but those were my deciding factors. I'm glad I paid the extra.

It includes Nano-Crystal technology that expands colors and adds additional features like 3-D, and powers it with an octa-core processor - our fastest offering this year. The JU6700 is a great option as a 4K TV, and includes the Smart Remote. The JU6500 is 4K, but offers the Standard remote control, and both models have quad-core processing. Thanks for your interest in Samsung products. --Mr. S
