“I am unable to change the volume on the TV. When I click the volume button on the remote it goes mute, when I click it again the volume number comes but and i click up or down to change the volume but nothing happens. Please help!”

When you press the volume button, it goes mute. Moving the volume button up and down adjust the desired volume. Pressing the volume button for more than 2 seconds shows the accessibility shortcuts to change the contrast of the volume.
