• no other bas available. I cut 2 inches off my lags so it would fit in my furniture cabinet.

• No. that was a concern because it didn't seem to stable on those little legs. I have it on a piece of 3/4" plywood which I stained to match the antique sewing table it sits on. I drilled holes either side of the legs an inch or two up from where the legs contact the board and used cable ties to tighten the legs down to the board. They are hardly noticeable. It's quite stable now. Even our cats can't knock it down.
