“I own a S95b. My question -- What (specifically!) does Peak Brightness control actually DO? I've heard that "Off" turns Automatic Brightness Limiter completely off. But then WHY is the picture brighter set to Medium and then brighter still on High?”

I agree....For watching SDR content, the picture is best with Peak Brightness turned OFF. But for HDR content, it should be turned on HIGH. Otherwise it interferes with other HDR settings.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.WE started setting our Tv up with the Peak Brightness on! We tried it on, and realized the off mode made the other colors in the Picture much clearer, less white glare!
