• You do not need to connect it to WiFi.

• Thanks so much for asking, wjc. On our models that have the Wi-Fi features, you can choose to not use the Wi-Fi, however, the range may continue searching for a Wi-Fi connection. We do have many models that do not have this feature, and may be a better option if you do not wish to use this feature. ^Jecca
