Hi Bobby! I'd like to help clarify this. According to page 22 of the user manual (https://bit.ly/39vYSPX): If you leave the door open for 20-30 seconds while the oven is in convection baking/roasting, baking, or broiling modes, the oven burner shuts off. But, don't worry, all you have to do to restart the burner, is close the door. ^Jecca
