• Hi AnnieSmiles! While the SmartThings app has some voice options, the range itself does not have a voice control feature. You can however find detailed information about using the Smart Control feature on page 36 of the user manual (https://bit.ly/2MQ37fZ). ^Jecca

• Yes, voice control must be activated so the app may be used with or without voice control.
