all below the 8711 have black, 87x1 series has stainless.

Please try again later.I, too, wanted the black cooktop not only for appearances, but from what other people had said, you have to clean the stainless right away, every time you cook. Samsung told me that the top of the range matches the body of the range, so if you get a stainless range, it comes with a stainless top. If you get a black stainless, it comes with the black cooktop.
