We have tested weights up to 65 pounds, which should be sufficient for most canning needs. However, there isn’t a strict limit on how heavy a canning pot can be. The key consideration is that the heavier the pot, the more likely you are to accidentally drag it across the surface instead of lifting it properly. Be mindful of your strength. Always use pots with a completely flat and smooth bottom. The pot should not have ridges or any uneven features.
