Hi there, Yes the glass top strong enough for pressure canning. First, when canning, never drag the pot across the surface of the cooktop. Even if the pot is very heavy and full of water, always lift it straight up, as dragging it can damage the cooktop’s surface. We have tested weights up to 65 pounds, which should be sufficient for most canning needs. However, there isn’t a strict limit on how heavy a canning pot can be. The key consideration is that the heavier the pot, the more likely you are to accidentally drag it across the surface instead of lifting it properly. Be mindful of your strength. Always use pots with a completely flat and smooth bottom. The pot should not have ridges or any uneven features. If the bottom is not flat, it will be harder for the pot to heat up, and the contents may not reach a full boil. Additionally, it could cause damage to the cooktop.
