The burners can be used individually or together when you have the griddle on. The rapid boil is on the right side. This is where you would have a large pot or skillet. When I used the burners with the griddle, it took just a few minutes to heat up and they were ready to use. There is a warmer that is in the middle of the stove.

The one burner’s knob has a way to use it single or with a bridge in the middle between the two burners so the griddle can heat up. It is a rapid boil . The griddle is a great feature. Love this range but it does get some time to get used to the circuit board.
