Hi Rory, We appreciate your question about the front left surface element. Yes, the front left element can be independently used for a 7-inch sized pot. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can use the bridge burner for any pot you want. Oblong shape would work perfectly such as a Magnalite Dutch Oven pot. Both burners on the left work independently so you can use each individual burner for a medium size pot. You could actually use a pot that is a little bigger than one individual burner itself because the heat will spread a little bit past the perimeter of the burner. Or you can use the whole bridge burner for one long oblong shaped pot. Or oval shape. It’s pretty neat. It’s almost like having eight burners. One being a warmer.
