“what is the size of the base stand?”

• The base looks plastic, but has a metal under skin. Without measuring mine (downstairs), I'd say it's about 18" x 10" square and flat, nothing like the 4-legged stand the shipped with my 51" plasma. I find it to be unobstrusive, but a little difficult to dust (the distance between to bottom of the set and the table top is not that great). But the base is very solid!

• The stand is surprisingly small for the tv size, I was a little concerned when I opened it up, but it seems solid, I have mine on its stand, but I'm also in California, so I will most likely be adding an earthquake strap for added support...

• The stand measures 22 7/8 x 9 inches.
