I had the same experience. If you turn off the Auto dimming (ECO) feature, this tends to stop. From what I can tell, this is caused by a combination of the ambient light in the room hitting the sensor that drives this feature and the TV video signal itself. The TV wants to upscale the format to take advantage of the 4K, but the signal loss will sometimes show up as a dimmed image.
