Good question ... ask Samsung, I believe their products are price controlled.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good question. The sales guys at my BB are asking the same question. I am theorizing that it is in part due to the difference in panels. In a nutshell, the 60" model was made with a different panel than the rest. Apparently a much cheaper, poorly manufactured panel. I have read that these were made as "promo" sets...like for major sales events; black Friday, Super Bowl, etc. If that's correct it might make sense for Samsung to only put the sets on sale below 65" during those sales...perhaps due to available stock, etc. Bottom line: the 60" KS8000 is to be avoided if you are interested in the best quality. I ended up taking 3 sets back because of light bleed issues that are all but nonexistent on my 65" KS8000. Hope this helps.
