It doesn't matter, either, the only difference is the input method and sources, if u connect the antenna into the screw in antenna port then the TV will recognize it as cable TV input and will filter channel's automatically, however if u input the antenna through the HDMI ports u have to source it in the TV's commands each time, really makes no difference other than having to put it into HDMI source Everytime u turn on the TV, picture quality wise would depend on ur equipment and what kind of range the antenna has, power output etc. The same principles apply to using a cable box from a service provider, they vary, for example, spectrum allows you to access ur services through wifi enabled app, so if u connect ur tv to your wify then u can access ur TV channels without antenna or cable box, of course this is an example, that sort of thing varies depending on your service provider after all.
