“I have a 48" Samsung TV bought in 2007. From early on, it took a long time to turn on. You can hear the click but it sometimes takes up to an hour to turn on. I like the picture but fearful of this issue if I get the same brand. Has this been resolved?”

My set was doing this and now will no longer turn on. You need to make the decision to get a new tv or repair the old one. The problem is your start up capacitors failing.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sounds like you had a Samsung plasma. Had a similar issue with one I purchased a few years before that. Currently have 8 Samsung TVs and not one of them shows the same symptom. Must have fixed it since then. I won't purchase anything but them now.
