• ARC is used with a HDMI cable from reciver to one connect box then all the other inputs go into receiver using HDMI cables

• ARC uses HDMI cables. So the ARC port = HDMI output AND input (it's also an input because ARC sends the signal both in and out). I never knew what any of that stuff was until I got this tv but it is great for a Smart TV. I run my apple tv, and cable box out to the tv, then the surround sound receiver is wired to the HDMI/ARC, you'd want to make sure your other device also has an ARC port or it won't work as intended. Both ends need to be able to send info upstream and downstream.
