“What am i doing wrong? I have a dvd player connected to a surround sound system then connected to my cable box which then goes to the tv. It is all pigtailed with only one wire going to the tv. But I can not get to play a dvd. Please help”

It is possible that your cable box doesn't have a pass-through option. You may need to connect it directly to the TV instead of running it through your cable box.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your cable box is probably cutting off the dvd since it is in the middle of the wiring. You can try powering everything on but the cable box and see if the dvd plays, but you should be connecting your dvd and cable box to receiver, then out to tv.
