LM, the difference as far as I can tell is that the 6300 comes with a remote with additional features. Exactly what those features are now that I have been using my 6290 for a while, I am not sure about. I guess I don't miss them.

Samsung decided to get rid of your typical RCA and Component ports and replace them with those splitters. I think it's convenient because it gets rid of all those extra plugs. BUT to answer your question, the 6290 should come with these as mine did when I bought it.
