Hi: Yes, your new Samsung should work without the Cable Box! I have mine turned off regularly (I have DishTV Satellite), since I usually turn it off before going to bed and when we're not watching TV programs, we are streaming amazon and Netflix as you are with no problem. I personally watch more stuff online than regular TV. By the way, don't you just love the 4K picture? Best, MarcB53 Southern California

Yes, you can stream contents only through Wi-Fi using the smart ultra HDTV.
