We received our Q8C about 6 weeks ago. In comparison with a Samsung FS9500 that it replaced, the colors, black levels, and bottom-edge-lighting bleed are significantly superior and more lifelike. The internal video processing for converting 480p,1080i, and 1080p formats is excellent, while the display of native UHD is outstanding. Unfortunately, I haven't viewed a Q7C outside a dealer's showroom so I can't relate a direct comparison. We selected the Q8C over the Q7C mainly because Samsung literature at that time only listed the Q8C as having 4K HDR Elite processing. The only other difference seemed to be the C8R had a elegant metal back, quite nice if you're placing the TV away from a wall. (The Q7C is listed as having a black plastic back.) Samsung now lists both models with the same HDR processing.
