Minimally, a good surge protector is recommended. Some have guarantees. A voltage| regulator will keep high end sound systems working in specified tolerances. Then, you need to contact your insurance agent to see what coverages you have. Internal elecrical flickering and surges that ruin your tv are differently treated from lightening. If you think you are covered, what is the deductible? Do not assume you have any coverage. Buying a cheap strip surge protector will sometimes require replacement after one triip. You likely have other plug in components , be sure they are surge protected now too.
