“Why doesn't this tv recognize my Samsung, model HW-E450, sound bar? I have the optical cable plugged and the TV is playing sound through it but it not recognized when using the TV sound setup and the symphony settings do not recognize it?”

the tv doesn't usually see the soundbar when you are using optical, try an HDMI cable from the arc connection on the tv. it should connect automatically
