“I set up my new 65" Q80A Samsung but the sound is not coming through to my external surround sound through the receiver- I have to use a optical cable. Is there a specific newer HDMI that would work?”

I use my optical cable for the sound. Works perfect when selecting optical mode in the sound settings of the TV.

Hi CNSB1 - We recommend using a High-Speed cable with Ethernet Channel, labeled as HEC or HEAC on the cable. Please also sure Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) is enabled in your TV settings: Home > Settings > General > External Device Manager > Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC).
