Difference is in the UHD dimming for contrast and deeper black. The 8dt has the "supreme" dimming and the 80t has the "ultimate" dimming. The 8dt is a bit better and cost is 100 can dollars more here in canada . The q800 ( 8k qled ) has the "supreme pro" dimming
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The TV's are the same. For the answers that say the speakers or the dimming zones are different. This is true, but not because of the model it's because of the SIZE of the TV. With both the Q80T and the Q8DT the 49" and 50" inch models have completely different specs! Including 8x full array and HDR instead of 12x, 120 motion rate instead of 240, and 40w 2.2 speakers instead of 60w 4.2. They also do not support the object tracking audio. I find it quite disappointing that Samsung would even give them the same model number. How do I know all this? It's all in the fine print at the bottom of the Samsung spec sheet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In Canada, the Q8DT has a 4.2.2 channel sound system whereas the Q80T only has a 2.2.2 channel sound system. This is laid out in the detailed specs pages of the respective TV and was confirmed by an online agent. The specs do not say there are any dimming differences. That is why it is $100 more. Took me a long time to search the difference. Can’t say for sure this is the difference for the US models though. In Canada the Q8DT is an exclusive model for Best Buy. So need to worry about price guarantee if you buy it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. So from what I found out in research, is basically the Q80T and the Q8DT are the same tv, but costco does the Q8DT so they don't have to price match.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.BJ's Wholesale Club also sells the QN65Q8DT I believe the previous answer is right on the mark in that these clubs or Best Buy doesn't have to price more match. Just like mattress stores that sell the same exact mattress but tweak the name so they don't have to price match either.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As per Best Buy the the Q8DT has a better speaker - 4.2.2 channel sound system whereas the Q80T only has a 2.2.2. The price difference between the 2 tvs is about $100 which I think is worth the speaker upgrade especially if you will synch them with a Samsung soundbar that uses the TV speakers too.
