“The available sound bars with Samsung and all TVs for that matter. Do they sound better that a standard 5.1 SS set up. Looks like sound bar is a less for more scenario?”

Hi Eben - If you want enhanced sound quality, you will want an external audio device like a soundbar. The Q80T TV has Q Symphony, a feature that allows you to play sound from your Samsung (Q-Symphony supported) soundbar as well as your TV's speakers at the same time for an excellent surround experience. ^Val

Yes. Set up is better with a sound bar and sub woofer. Buy a good one.
