• There is a setting that allows you to have it go back to the last app you used. I found the full owner's manual on Samsung's site.

• In my experiencd, it doesn't. But you can set up your favorite apps to be in the home screen. I think you can put in up to 6 or 7, so you won't have to go in the "apps" and navigate there. That feature works well for me.
