SmartHomeFamily - The One Connect Box is required for use with The Frame TV, as this box houses all input connections, as well as power. If you're inquiring about apps, please know you can take advantage of The Frame TV's built-in App Store. The Xfinity app is available to download from the App Store and can be used in place of your cable box. ^Gina
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need to connect the one connect box to the TV. That’s a given. The one connect box serves for all connections to the TV. So if you want an Ethernet connection, Wireless Connection, HDMI etc, those all go to the one connect. Without the one connect the TV will NOT WORK AT ALL. What the rep was probably referring to was that you can eliminate your traditional Xfinity TV Box that plugs into a Video cable and then into the HDMI port on the back of the one connect box. Instead of that you can use the Xfinity Stream APP. If you are an Xfinity customer you can try the stream app on your phone or iPad. It’s the same in the TV. So baseline you can eliminate the Xfinity TV Box BUT NOT THE ONE CONNECT BOX. You will still need those two connected together with the small transparent cable connecting them. To hide the cable and one connect box, I sank the one connect box and cable into the wall behind the TV and connected it via hard wired Ethernet. Looks great and works perfectly with no wires visible at all
