• Well, both require electricity :) However the Gas one does use gas heat for the hot air rather than an electric heater. This results in lower electricity cost. Both are energy star rated but some locations require "gas dryers". Otherwise all functions and operations are the same.

• Electric dryers you just plug in. None electric require electricity plus gas service. I believe electric dryers are safer. Maintenance is paramount for dryers either way.
