“My configuration has washer on one wall and dryer on the adjacent wall. I was told these needed to be kept side-by-side due to the hose from washer to dryer. Therefore, is the hose from the washer to dryer needed? Or is it for the steam function only?”

We’ve had this model twice. The first time we attached the hose for steam and never used it once. This time we simply did not attach the hose . Obviously steam function doesn’t work but we just don’t use steam settings. Also in theory they don’t have to be side by side to use steam if your other wall also has a water supply they could use separate hoses to separate supplies. Good luck.

It is recommended to install it side by side for easier installation of the exhaust but you can still make your setup work as long as it passes all the requirements in the manual. ^Rodel
