- A:Answer If you mean the exhaust hose, yes, you do need it hooked up, great machine too! Really pleased with it. I figure you’re getting the gas model? You would also need the gas hook up if you are. If electric model, obviously you would not. Good luck

High Efficiency Stackable Front Load Washer with Vibration Reduction Technology+ - White. Due to the nature of a front loading washing machine's design, there is a rubber gasket that lines the door. This prevents leakage but is also a breeding ground for bacteria and mold to build. Any residual water left in the machine has nowhere to go, which is how mold and mildew form causing the machine to smell. Ideally, you have to clean the washing machine every after use.
