Hi Pantherfan! The TU7000 includes cable management clips in the box and the TU6980 does not. The picture and audio quality, along with the smart features between these two models are the same. ^Tim

As for having both TVs I can tell you absolutely nothing is different except the cable connections. Even having the series 8 and 9 the picture quality is the same. It would just be up to your preference or a deal your trying to snag on the option you choose.
