• the distance between 2 stands is approximately 54.1 inches.

• The distance from the OUTSIDE edges of the stands is 47 and 3/8 inches (45 and 1/4 inches inside to inside). I have this TV (it's fantastic by the way). So the 54" stated by another is incorrect.
