If you are using the legs, yes 15.5 is the absolute minimum width for a table. But if you want to be safe and stable account for more like 18. The legs are wider in front and narrowe in the back. There are two different locations for the legs to connect. The widest is 62 at bare minimum, back side, and 65 front side. Where I have them, widest back side is 49, and front is 52. These are minimums for placing on a table or entertainment center. Hope this helps!
