Yes it will work. The stock hard drive on the late 2012 Mac Mini is slow. It will feel like you just purchased a new computer when you add this hard drive. With 2012 model you can stack 2 hard drives inside the Mac Mini. I am using the old hard drive as a storage drive for photos, videos, etc. and the new Samsung SSD as main drive with the OS.
