• I don't think it would be a problem. Both use the M.2 PCIe, should be an easy upgrade.

• You can replace your optane for another ssd (m 2) and use as boot drive, but to be on the safe side, you need to verify if you HP model is compatible and can boot thought the M.2 (new) drive
