Jonas: Yes, the 990 PRO is compatible with your Acer Nitro 5. Samsung also offers the 990 PRO with heatsink option - with its slim size, 990 PRO with Heatsink is a perfect fit for desktops and laptops that meet the PCI-SIG D8 standard. We recommend you contact Best Buy Customer Support or your local Best Buy store directly for assistance in installation. - Samsung Memory
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A: Jonas, I recently purchased an Acer Nitro 5 with Gforce 4060 video from BJ's @ Christmas. To open the back, you simply need a small Phillips screwdriver. All screws are the same length and size. You need a stiff guitar pick or a plastic tool to help pry the back off the case. Several videos on YouTube detail this process. I recommend you clone your 1TB hard drive onto the new 2TB drive so you don't have to reload everything. I use a Sabrent USB Type C Dual Enclosure for PCIe NVMe M.2 SSDS. The device holds 2 NVMe SSDs. "A" is the source drive (1TB) and "B" is the destination drive (2TB). You don't even need to hook the device to a computer. It will run standalone via it's firmware. There is a "Clone" button you press for about 3 seconds and the device starts cloning. It only took 7 minutes to clone onto my new 2TB hard drive. You can clone up in size, just not down. You can also use the clone box to access NVMe drives. You may want to do this so you can initialize the new 2TB drive and make it an active drive. Not 100% necessary though. Once cloned, install the 2TB drive in your laptop. You should have 2 slots. I don't think there is enough room for a heat sink, but I did apply some thermal paste onto the heat sink pads. Once online, run Disk Management (MS Windows) to check the size of available space on your hard drive. I had to buy some software to join the allocated and UN-allocated spaces together so I could use all the space on the drive. The cloning box cost me $135.00 shipped. Store your original 1TB drive in a safe place just in case. Good luck Jonas.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's pretty easy to do yourself, My motherboard is an Asus ROG Maximus 790 Hero and it came with thermal pads attached to the heatsinks so I didn't have to worry about buying an aftermarket one so that depends but as far as install goes it's very simple and can be done yourself. I built my PC myself just watching Youtube videos
