My phone is in a samsung hard case. I have no issues with charging it in the case on the charger.

In the instructions manual it says not to put any metal objects between the phone and the charger, I had a metal piece inside the case so it can snap to my car magnet but I took that off, I`ll rather listen to the manufacturing instructions when using this charger.
