• Used this to charge 2 Galaxy S6's and old S4 I put back in service. Works well on all 3 and no fires to report (yet).

• Compat. is one part of it, the S4 doesn't support fast charging. Yes it should do. May need to condition your battery, if it is not old. If so, need new bat. You would just be paying a little more for a fast charger
