• The player will play discs if you want to watch movies without WiFi... To use the apps. (Netflix, VUDU, etc...) you need an internet connection and this is achieved through a WiFi connection and an ethernet cable connection. This player offers both options.

• You do not have to have Internet to play a DVD, or BD, but you won't be able to stream NetFlix, Hulu etc without it.

• Yes. You have to have an internet service provider (Comcast, ATT or something like those). It is wireless and it has an Ethernet port as well.

• No, this player has an Ethernet port on the back for a direct line internet connection. It also has WiFi, if you don't have a wired line to that TV.
