Q: Will this work with a non 3D and/or 4K tv?
A: If you have a 1080p (non-UHD) device you must change the default player's UHD setting manually to 'off' for it to work properly. I almost took this player back before changing this setting and the picture is now better than any Blu-Ray player I've ever owned. For me it didn't work at all on my 1080p projector until I turned this setting to 'off'.
Q: Will regular dvd work on this device?
A: yes and it can try to upscale image to 4K TV but is limited better picture for DVDs. Bluray does better on upscaling and improving picture quality. Regular LCD or LED TV will give 1080p picture quality.
Q: Cannot get samsung 4K Uhd upscaling blu-ray to play 4K movies on a Visio 4K ultra theater
A: The BD-J6300 is NOT a 4K disc player. It only up-scales DVDs and Blu-ray HD to "near 4K" resolution. It cannot read actual 4K discs.
Q: With this player, will any streaming functions work with a NON-smart TV?
A: Yes, the streaming functions on this player do not require a smart TV.
Q: When you turn it on is there a light to indicate that it is on.
A: There is not an indicator light but rather a display on the front of the unit showing words like "ON", "OFF" or "PLAY". There is also a time counter displayed when the movie is playing.
A: Yes, a Blu-ray player can play CDs, DVDs and of course Blu-ray. Also you can plug in a USB flash drive or Hard Drive with Music, Pictures and Videos as well.
Q: Does it record VHS to DVD as well as TV to DVD?
A: Where in the product description (or by viewing the picture) does it say anything about "recording" or "VHS" This is a "Blu-Ray player"
