Hello there, Yes, auto connectivity only works when you sync your microwave and compatible range or cooktop so ventilation and lighting turn on automatically. The vent fan protects the microwave from excessive heat. It will turn on automatically if it detects excessive heat. If you have switched on the fan, you may be unable to turn it off. When the internal parts have cooled down, the fan will automatically switch off. It may remain on for 30 minutes or longer after the stove and microwave controls have been switched off.
