“Is space at the sides of the refigerator required for the cooling. We have another brands 36 inch counter depth refrigerator that gets the pantry next to it so hot is is unusable. There is 8 inches of free space above then a ventilated cabinet above.”

I don't know what to tell you but it shouldn't get that hot in there if you got that much space
