The ice is in the freezer side. There is no problem with the ice. If fact you have two separate bins. One the cube ice and one for small pieces. Highly recommend!

The fridge will absorb the heat from the water, lowering it down enough to freeze it, and by keeping the temperature within the freezer or the ice maker, the ice will hold its form until it is taken out from the fridge and starts to melt.
