• It should I use it for my mac book pro and and my Mac mini soo i don't see why not.

• If your Macbook Air has a mini display port, you will need a mini display port adapter for HDMI or D-Sub/VGA

• You can however you will need a Thunderbolt adapter or an Apple TV I use my MacBook Air through the Apple TV on this monitor and it looks really good. I'm assuming the same goes for the adapter route aswell.
