• Hi Diane, Samsung recommends connecting the NE58H9970WS to a 40-amp circuit, which is the upper range of the current use for which it's designed. Connecting it to a higher amp circuit is not recommended. Thanks for asking! Ms. Samsung

• Yes, this will work on either a 40 amp or a 50 amp circuit. Just be sure to purchase the correct 50 amp UL approved cord.
