“Why is there no backlit keyboard so it stays dark?”

• Well, my guess as to why Samsung did not make the keyboard backlit is because they felt that it was not necessary. I have this device and the screen can get so bright that it lights up the keyboard. I have not felt that the lack of backlighting hinders it in any way.

• I found the light from the screen was good enough to type something if you are in a dark room. Plus you can always flip it into tablet mode and type using the on screen keyboard.

• I assume it simply comes down to economics. Back lighting the keyboard would add to the cost. Or, maybe they are going to back light the Pro when it's released....

• It isn't necessary. There is ample light reflected from the screen.
